By downloading, installing, or using Bound (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and GoBound App ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), the operator of Bound, headquartered in Austin, Texas.

By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to verify your eligibility at any time and to terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.
Accurate Information. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep it updated.
One Account Per Person. You may only create one Bound account. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited and may result in all accounts being permanently banned.
Account Security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Do not share your login credentials. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at jack@boundapp.io.
Impersonation. You may not create an account that impersonates another person, uses a fake identity, or misrepresents your affiliation with a university.

Your Content, Your Responsibility. You are solely responsible for all content you upload, post, or transmit through Bound, including profile photos, bio text, and messages.
License to Us. By posting content on Bound, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the App. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
We May Remove Content. We reserve the right — but have no obligation — to review, monitor, or remove any content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, in our sole discretion, without notice.
Bound provides tools to help college students find compatible roommates and friends. We do not guarantee that you will make any matches, that any match will result in a roommate arrangement or friendship, or that information provided by other users is accurate.
You are solely responsible for evaluating any potential roommate or connection you make through Bound. We strongly encourage you to:
Bound is not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether on or off the platform.
Your use of Bound is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully.
Report Abuse. If another user behaves inappropriately, you can report them using the report button in any chat. You can also email us at jack@boundapp.io.
Block Users. You can block any user at any time using the block option in any chat. Blocked users cannot see your profile or contact you.
Emergency Situations. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (911) immediately. Do not wait to contact us first.
Zero Tolerance. The following will result in immediate and permanent account termination:
Our Property. Bound, including the App, its design, graphics, interface, and all content created by us, is owned by GoBound App and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of Bound without our written permission.
Your Property. We do not claim ownership of the content you create. See Section 5 for the limited license you grant us.
Feedback. If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us the right to use them without any obligation to compensate you.
AS-IS Service. Bound is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
No Guarantee of Uptime. We do not guarantee that Bound will be available at all times. We may suspend or discontinue the App at any time without notice.
Third-Party Services. Bound relies on third-party services including Supabase and Resend. We are not responsible for their availability or performance.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GoBound App and its founders, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or (b) $100 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GoBound App and its founders, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of or inability to use the App, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or any content you post or transmit through Bound.
By You. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting jack@boundapp.io.
By Us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, including if we determine that you have violated these Terms. We will generally try to notify you before termination unless we determine that doing so would harm the community or violate a legal obligation.
Effect of Termination. Upon termination, your right to use Bound immediately ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 15) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution. Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at jack@boundapp.io and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Arbitration. If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will take place in Austin, Texas.
Class Action Waiver. You agree to resolve disputes with us individually and waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. Either party may seek emergency injunctive relief from a court to prevent irreparable harm.
Entire Agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and GoBound App regarding your use of Bound.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so in the future.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
No Third-Party Beneficiaries. These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms at boundapp.io/terms with a new "Last Updated" date, sending a notice to your registered email address, and/or displaying a prominent notice in the App. Your continued use of Bound after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
